Xiaoping Qiu

Xiaoping Qiu

Xiaoping Qiu, born in October 1976, is a PhD in Engineering, post-doctoratal fellow and professor. He graduated from Xihua University with a bachelor’s degree in automobile design and manufacturing in July 1997, received a master degree in vehicle engineering from Xihua University in July 2000, and later a doctorate in traffic information engineering and control engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in June 2004. He once worked in the post-doctoral training center of management science and engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, engaged in research on information management and integration, intelligent information processing theory and its application in the field of transportation and logistics. As a leading researcher, Prof. Qiu has taken part in 7 projects sponsored by National Natural Science Fund, 2 projects funded by National Social Science Fund, one project funded by the National "Tenth Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Research Program, two major projects funded by the China Railway, one project funded by the Higher Education Doctoral Discipline Development Plan, two projects funded by the government of Sichuan, one by the government of Chengdu. He has chaired one key project funded by Higher Education Doctoral Training Plan, one project of the Academic and Technological Leaders Training Plan of Sichuan, one project of Philosophy and Social Planning Program of Chengdu, one project funded by the Postdoctoral Science Fund of China, one project for scientific breakthrough of Sichuan Province, one project funded by the government of Zhengzhou, and a bunch of other national and provincial research projects. He has published over 70 papers, for 32 of which he was the first author. He also authored five books, filed five patents and one software intellectual property as well as one provincial technological invention. In 2009, Prof. Qiu was rated the "Sishi Star" of Southwest Jiaotong University, and in 2010, he was elected the candidate for academic and technological research leader of Sichuan Province.
