Hengjia Zhang, male, born in November 1974, PhD/postdoctoral fellow, professor, PhD supervisor, member of the Agricultural Engineering Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Ministry of Education, member of the Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering Steering Group, Agricultural Industrialization Branch of the Chinese Agricultural Society Agricultural Industrialization Expert, Distinguished Professor of Feitian Scholar Program of Gansu Province, Winner of the Young Teacher Talent Award of Gansu Province, Expert of Gansu Province Science and Technology Expert Talent Pool, Project Review Expert of Beijing Natural Science Foundation Project and Hebei Province Science and Technology Plan, Project Conclusion Review Expert of National New Engineering Research and Practice Program, doctoral dissertation evaluation expert of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, first-class undergraduate professional evaluation expert of Gansu Province, member of the Academic Committee of Gansu Agricultural University, and instructor of outstanding doctoral thesis of Gansu Province. Prof. Zhang is also an editorial member of Journal of Irrigation and Drainage, special editor of Hubei Agricultural Sciences, Crop Science, Journal of Integrative Agriculture (formerly known as Agricultural Sciences in China), Environmental Earth Science, Agricultural Science Research Journal, Reviewer of African Journal of Agricultural Research, Journal of Agricultural Engineering, Arid Land Geography, Journal of Agricultural Machinery, Chinese Journal of Eco-Agriculture, and Journal of Gansu Agricultural University. Prof. Zhang’s research focuses on geography (physical geography: watershed and soil resources, watershed and farmland ecological stoichiometry characteristics and nutrient cycling, watershed and farmland ecological hydrological processes and their mechanism; human geography: watershed and farmland system water and heat coupling relationship and its Response to climate change and human activities, regional resources, environment and sustainable development), ecology (plant ecology, restoration ecology, agricultural ecology) and agricultural water and soil engineering (regional water and soil resource utilization and regulation: water-saving irrigation theory And technology, sustainable use and evaluation of soil nutrients). Prof. Zhang has chaired or attended 25 scientific research projects at all levels, including 2 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 7 provincial-level projects, 5 prefectural and departmental-level projects, and one project was awarded the third class of Science and Technology Progress Award of Gansu. He has published more than 160 papers as the first author or corresponding author in SCI or EI-indexed journals including Agricultural Water Management, Canadian Journal of Plant Science, Pedosphere, Scientific Report, Journal of Agricultural Machinery, and 140 papers on key Chinese journals including Journal of Ecology, Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, Botany, Chinese Journal of Eco-Agriculture, Arid Land Resources and Environment, Arid Area Agricultural Research, North China Journal of Agriculture, Journal of Irrigation and Drainage. Five papers have been indexed by SCI, 16 by EI, one by ISTP, and more than 90 by other key citation databases. He has published three books and is an editorial member of two books.
