
Qianchuan Zhao
Prof. Zhao graduated from the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University with a Ph.D. in 1996, and then stayed there as a faculty member. He has visited Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard University as a visiting scholar, and Cornell University as a visiting professor. His main research focuses on control and optimization of networked dynamic systems, and has long been engaged in research on green ICT technology, energy-saving and smart grid. He has chaired many projects that won national natural science funds and international cooperation projects with enterprises, including the National 13th Five-Year Key R&D Project "New Building Intelligent System Platform Technology" and the National Outstanding Youth Fund Project "Safety Analysis and Performance Optimization of Networked Dynamic Systems". He has co-authored one English monograph, one Chinese textbook, and published more than 80 papers in journals and conference proceedings. He has won a number of scientific research awards, including the Second Prize of National Natural Science (ranked 2nd), the Second Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education (ranked 1st), and the Guan Zhaozhi Excellent Paper Award (the only winner). Prof. Zhao has been actively engaged in academic events and served in the editorial board of many academic journals including IEEE Network System Control Transactions and Journal of Automation. He has also organized a number of academic events including China Control Conference. He is an IEEE senior member and has been elected to the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program funded by the Ministry of Education and has won the National Outstanding Youth Award.
